What's happening with the High Holidays?

It's a Virtual Mekor High Holidays for this year. Because of the pandemic and to help keep everyone safe, Congregation Mekor Shalom will be holding High Holiday services via Zoom.

How is it all going to work?

  • Members will automatically receive all service log-in information by email.
  • Guests will need to register and will then receive the Zoom information.
  • Mahzor for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur is the High Holiday prayer book that is available for contactless, drive thru pick up outside the building at Mekor Shalom at scheduled times.
  • Yes, there are going to be Virtual Round Challah Days Children's Services.
Details are below.  Please keep reading...

How can I participate as a guest?

Mekor Shalom is delighted to connect with guests and visitors for the High Holidays.

Guests and visitors will need to register for Virtual Mekor:  High Holiday Services on the High Holiday Services Donation page.  Mekor Shalom members are already signed up.

While it's not required, Mekor Shalom requests that guests consider a $72 suggested High Holiday Services Donation per adult, in support of Mekor Shalom and Virtual Mekor's Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services.

To be a part of this High Holiday journey of heart, home, and hope, please sign up by clicking here.  If you need assistance, please call 813-963-1818.

How can everyone follow the service with a book?
In one of two (or three) ways...

1) Mahzor for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, edited by Rabbi Jules Harlow is the High Holiday prayer book. Members and registered guests may borrow copies. They are available for contact-free, drive thru, pick up outside the building at Mekor Shalom at select times.  Reserve a book here.

2) Mekor Shalom is providing a pdf of the services in Mahzor for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur for download.  The prayers for Rosh Hashanah are available here.

3)  There is no need to purchase the mahzorwhich is out of print.  If you would prefer to own a personal copy of it, there are some used copies available on Amazon.  Prices and and condition of the books vary.

Everyone is also welcome to bring a good book along to enhance your High Holiday experience and take in the atmosphere of the service.  A list of recommended titles is available at the bottom of the screen.
