Firelight Shadow Theater Presents: The Wonderful World of Shadow Puppetry
Sunday, September 26, 2021 • 20 Tishrei 5782
11:00 AM - 12:30 PMFirelight Theater via Virtual MekorDiscover the magical world of shadow puppetry with Daniel Barash of Firelight Shadow Theater. Shadow puppetry, an ancient art form that casts shadows on a backlit screen to wondrous effect, is truly the "Original Screen Time.”
For this special virtual workshop, explore “What a Wonderful World” we live in as imagined by Louis Armstrong and reinterpreted by jazz phenom Jon Batiste.
Participants will make a shadow puppet stage (from items found in their kitchens!), create their own shadow puppets, and then communally perform to Batiste’s version of this classic song. See you in the land of shadows!
